The 4 Bars of the Basic NutriCode
The 3 wide bars (F, C and P) from the NutriCode represent the 3 main nutrients contained in a food. They
are total fat, total carbohydrate and total protein. The narrow fuschia alcohol bar (l) represents total alcohol.
Each wide, red fat bar is equal to 2 grams of fat and 18 calories. Each wide,
green carbohydrate bar is equal to 4 grams of carbohydrate and 16 calories.
Each wide, blue protein bar is equal to 4 grams of carbohydrate and 16 calories.
Each narrow fuschia alcohol bar is equal to 2 grams of alcohol and 14 calories.
To use the NutriCode properly it is important to know when to use the 4 or 19
bar view option. If you are dieting, trying to lose or gain weight, use the
easier 4 bar option. If you have a medical condition such as diabetes, heart
disease, cancer, liver disease, are pregnant or are using the HealthKeeper to
improve your nutrition, use the 19 bar option.
